Battery Hi-pot Tester for Battery Safety Tests

The Battery Hi-Pot Tester is an instrument used to measure the withstand voltage strength. It can intuitively, accurately, and quickly test the electrical safety performance indicators such as breakdown voltage and leakage current of various tested objects, and can be used as a high-voltage source to test the performance of components and the whole machine.

Working principle

The Battery Hi-Pot Tester based on Ohm's law and the electrical characteristics of insulation materials, a test voltage higher than its normal operating voltage is applied to the tested battery, usually reaching several hundred volts or even thousands of volts. Under high voltage, if the insulation performance of the battery is good, the current (leakage current) passing through the battery will be very small; If the battery has insulation defects such as internal short circuits, damaged insulation materials, etc., the leakage current will significantly increase. The tester determines whether the insulation performance of the battery is qualified by detecting the magnitude of the leakage current.
